    Pop-up Sensory Workshops are announced each month. ​ Led by occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists, our themed group events provide opportunities to enhance developmental play skills like pretend play and cooperative play. Participants also refine communication skills such as receptive (following directions, participating in adult-led activities) and expressive vocabulary, while fostering socialization skills through creative expression and friendship building. These themed events encourage turn-taking and sharing while promoting fine motor development (dexterity, coordination, manipulation), gross motor (motor planning and processing skills), and executive function abilities (planning, organizing, and execution). Additionally, children learn socio-emotional regulation skills (identifying and coping with big feelings, transitioning between activities, and regulating impulsive behaviors) within a fun and motivating environment. ​ The event cost is $50 , please contact our front office or continue via Square Online before the program starts.     Led by occupational therapists, this program emphasizes the acquisition and maintenance of skills through structured practice sessions. Participants will focus on improving pencil grasp, fine motor coordination, and upper body strength, while also mastering letter formation and line orientation using a multi-sensory learning approach. ​ This group meets twice a week for 60-minute sessions. The group will meet over the course of 10 weeks with courses offered quarterly. ​ The cost is $1000 , to be paid in full either at the front office or through Square Online before the program starts.     Please read each group's description! Preschool Group A group designed for children ages 3-4 years old. Therapist-led small group sessions are centered around the achievement of sensory and emotional regulation, play, and age-appropriate developmental skills crucial for their growth and interactions across all-natural settings. Through engaging activities and guided interactions, children learn to navigate social language skills, develop joint attention skills, and engage in cooperative play with their peers. ​ Sessions will be 1 time a week, 60 minutes per session, over the course of 4 weeks. The price for the sessions is $250. Elementary Group A group designed for children ages 5-8 years old . ​ A therapist-led small group sessions are centered around the achievement of sensory and emotional regulation, creative expression and self-advocacy, safety awareness including stranger danger, direction-following, and coping strategies, as well as communication and play skills. Our therapists place a strong emphasis on fostering pragmatic skills vital for social interaction and communication.     Meet The Team Luz E. Gaona M.S., CCC-SLP Luz Gaona, M.S., CCC-SLP, is the founder of Southshore Bilingual Therapy, Inc. She is a bilingual speech-language pathologist and owner of Southshore Bilingual Therapy, Inc. She received her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida State University. Luz has provided speech and language therapy in a variety of settings including in-home, pre-school, daycare, public school, senior living facilities and hospital outpatient clinic. Her clinical decisions are rooted in evidence-based practice and she believes in looking at the whole child when tailoring goals to the individual child. Luz has received training in PROMPT level 1 Trained, D.I.R. Floortime® and Myofascial Release. Ashley Jones Tech Lead This is your Team Member description. Gutierrez, B.A. SLPA is a pediatric speech-language pathology assistant at Southshore Bilingual Therapy, Inc. Eunice is a first-generation college graduate who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University of South Florida. She initiated her career in speech-language therapy at a private school setting working with autistic children with a variation of speech-language disorders. Eunice is an advocate for the bilingual and underrepresented population in speech-language therapy. She has presented in FL-ASHA advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of speech-language pathology. Eunice is passionate about the evidence-based practice that bilingualism does not cause a speech-language delay. Eunice enjoys spending time outdoors kayaking, watching sunrises at the beach, spending time with her puppy, and traveling. Iris Frazier OTD, OTR/L Iris Frazier, OTD R/L, is a pediatric occupational therapist at Southshore Bilingual Therapy Inc. She graduated from her Doctorate program at Gannon University located in Ruskin, Florida with a focus on Pediatric Sensory Feeding therapy. She has always had a passion for working with kids and turning work into play. In her free time, Iris enjoys lifting weights, reading, and spending quality time with her dog, Piper. Jennifer Torres COTA/ L. Jennifer graduated from Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood, New York, in 2001, with an Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy. She is registered with the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy since 2001. She has 20+ years of clinical experience in diversified fields, including geriatrics and pediatrics in private clinics, rehab facilities, and home health. This diverse experience has afforded her the knowledge and opportunities to provide Occupational-based interventions for her clients' success to achieve the highest functional independence in their lives.     Boutique-Style Services Providing Everything You Need Consultations Our Speech and Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist can provide professional consultations to parents and other professionals through video or phone calls. Some examples of concerns that can be discussed during said consultations include, but are not limited to: Concerns regading your child's developmental and communication progress. Discussions regarding a challenging client on your caseload. If you need novel therapy ideas and recommendations for refined treatments.
